As part of my morning routine, I always look for something that will give me energy as well as benefit my body with plenty of good nutrients. Starbucks has a lavender drink that inspired me to make my own with a healthy twist.
The Ingredients: To taste
Oat milk (any milk will work)
Half & Half
Ashwagandha (amazon, whole foods)
Matcha tea (costco has good deals on this)
Dried food grade lavender buds (whole foods)
Honey (any sweetner is good)
Preparation:
1. Steep the lavender buds in a small amount of hot water for about 5-7 minutes
Directions:
1. Place oat milk in a small pot on the oven and heat up for about 3 minutes until warm.
2. Whisk in matcha tea powder to warm milk on the oven.
3. In a seperate small container, whisk together a small amount of the warm milk, half & half and ashwagandha.
4. The lavender should be ready to strain at this point, so go ahead and use a strainer to pour the lavender water directly into your cup.
5. Once you have your lavender water in there, go ahead and pour the warm milk with the matcha and follow it up with the ashwagandha and half & half mix.
6. Give it a stir with a hand whisk or a milk frother and enjoy!
I included ashwagandha which is an ancient medicinal herb that can help with calming anxiety, which is something that I deal with on a daily basis, so I thought I would add it to my morning drink.
